As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Programme Delivery Lead with hands-on experience to join our dynamic team and drive successful delivery of large-scale SAP transformation programmes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercial Programme Delivery Lead with a proven track record in managing large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation programmes across the globe. The ideal candidate will bring deep, hands-on experience leading SAP S/4HANA delivery from mobilisation and scoping through to cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilisation – with strong control over governance, scope, risk, vendors, and executive stakeholder alignment.
This is a client-facing role requiring strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to manage the full delivery cycle of complex SAP S/4HANA programmes. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure alignment between delivery outcomes and business goals, and drive disciplined execution from initiation through hypercare.
You will be responsible for:
Programme Delivery
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes
- Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle: discovery/scoping → fit-to-standard/design → build/config → integrations → data migration → testing → cutover → go-live → hypercare
- Drive an integrated programme plan across functional, technical, data, security, testing, and cutover workstreams
- Ensure delivery is on time, within scope and budget, and meets agreed quality gates and acceptance criteria
Scope Definition & Fit-to-Standard Workshops
- Facilitate SAP S/4HANA scoping sessions to define programme objectives, deliverables, timelines, and deployment approach (single instance/global template/localisation)
- Govern the fit-to-standard process, ensuring business alignment while protecting SAP standard where possible
- Ensure scope is clearly articulated across modules, interfaces, data objects, security roles, reporting, and change impacts
- Control scope change rigorously (change requests, impact assessments, timeline/budget trade-offs) to prevent delivery drift
Governance, RAID, and Delivery Control
- Establish and lead programme governance forums (SteerCo, Design Authority, Architecture/Integration boards, Testing/Go-Live councils)
- Own RAID management end-to-end, driving mitigation and resolution across core risk areas
- Ensure compliance with SAP Activate Delivery methodology and deliverable standards (design signoffs, build quality, test evidence, cutover readiness)
- Drive recovery planning when needed: re-baselining, re-sequencing, re-scoping, and resourcing interventions
Supplier & Workstream Leadership
- Oversee and mentor workstream leads, PMO, and delivery managers across functional and technical workstreams.
- Ensure effective integration between delivery and business workstreams (process owners, SMEs, data owners, change).
Executive Stakeholder Management
- Responsible for providing regular programme updates to senior client leadership, with clear reporting on milestones, risks, dependencies and budget
- Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues across the programme.
- Maintain client confidence through transparent reporting, decisive governance, and controlled execution under pressure.
- Ensure decisions are made quickly and based on clear options and delivery trade-offs
Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare Ownership
- Own the full cutover strategy, rehearsal discipline, go/no-go readiness criteria, and go-live execution planning
- Ensure testing cycles are properly governed (SIT, UAT, regression, performance) with evidence-based exit criteria.
- Drive hypercare and stabilisation outcomes: issue triage, prioritisation, defect resolution, and transition to BAU support
- Ensure business readiness is real: training completion, security/roles, readiness, adoption, and support model preparedness
Change Management
- Ensure effective change management is embedded in the programme – communications, training, and user adoption planning.
- Partner with business stakeholders to drive adoption of SAP-enabled processes and new ways of working
- Ensure the organisation is prepared for operational impact, not just system development.
Key Qualifications & Attributes:
- Minimum of 10 – 15+ years’ experience in Programme Management, with at least 5 years’ experience delivering large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA, including full project lifecycle experience from scoping to post-go live. Ability to engage both technical and business teams on solutions
- Experience managing large-scale programmes involving multiple workstreams (functional, technical, data, integration, testing, cutover, change) and senior stakeholders
- Extensive experience managing senior client relationships and executive stakeholders in SAP delivery contexts
- Proven experience running governance frameworks, managing delivery risks, and enforcing quality standards
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse programme teams and mentor delivery leadership
